A mid-sized, international pharmaceutical company wants to generate more social and political attention for the disease states for which it is developing treatments. While medical support already exists, there is a lack of recognition of the disease’s broader impact on society.
Approach by IvCB
IvCB began by identifying the core challenges and conducted an in-depth stakeholder analysis. This revealed that the impact of the disease on both employers and employees was significantly greater than initially assumed. Based on these insights, a targeted strategy was developed to actively engage relevant stakeholders, including labour and employer representatives. Healthcare providers were also involved to jointly raise media visibility of the disease. These parties were brought together in a broad coalition, with the objective of drafting a joint action agenda ahead of the new year.
Result for the client
The client now has a widely supported strategy with clear messages and an active coalition of stakeholders. As a result, societal recognition of the condition has increased, and concrete follow-up steps have been taken to secure lasting attention on the policy agenda.
