The challenge
The Malaysian government was shocked by the tragic crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, as was the government in the Netherlands. A civil airliner carrying many Malaysians and people from the Netherlands crashed in Ukraine, which event required a careful response by the Malaysian authorities.
IvCB’s approach
IvCB mapped out the stakeholders in the Netherlands in detail, in a commission from the Malaysian government. Social and political developments were monitored in real time and clarity was provided for the discussions that took place in the Netherlands. The visit to the Netherlands by the Malaysian Minister of Transport during an official meeting was carefully prepared.
The result for the client
The work carried out by IvCB ensured that the Malaysian government was able to have all the relevant information as quickly as possible. The clarity that was given meant that sensitivities could be better understood, and responded to and acted upon appropriately.
