Improving care for transplant patients

Challenge

A pharmaceutical company with a treatment for a rare complication following organ transplantation seeks to raise awareness of the limited access to donor organs for this specific patient group, as well as the available treatment options.

Approach by IvCB

IvCB organized a scientific symposium in collaboration with a leading university hospital and the embassy of the country where the client’s headquarters is located. . The event brought together healthcare professionals, scientists, umbrella organizations, patient groups, and policymakers. During the symposium, clinical experiences were shared, and the added value of the available treatment was highlighted. Policymakers were explicitly invited to join the discussion on the fair allocation of donor organs.

Result for the client

The symposium resulted in a formal public appeal to policymakers to review existing donor organ distribution policies. As a result, the client not only increased visibility for this rare condition but also generated meaningful political attention for a pressing societal issue.
